rear wiper problem

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

i've got a problem on 95 VR6 with the rear wipers - had the car for about 3 weeks and the rear wiper has never worked, i instantly presumed it was the rear wiper motor and have ordered another BUT last night, when it was raining, i noticed that the rear wiper was actually working!!! i dont know what i pressed but i have tried everything to get them to come back on and nothing works. also - when i had them on that once, i could only turn them off by turning off the ignition?

does anyone have any ideas whats causing this cos its obviously not the motor as it worked that once!

is it my stalk control perhaps - any other ideas?

thanks for your help,

Joe

you are meant to push the wiper stalk towards front of car to get it on, then it wipes every so often, but to turn it off you have to push stalk towards front of car again.

confused me when i 1st got car, had to drive 20miles to with rear wiper "screeching" across window every few minutes as i couldn't turn it off

mine died a little while ago and i assumed its the motor, not got round to looking yet, but can hear my relay click, just nothing moves or makes a noise at the rear.

i was going to blank it off with a gromit, are the motors expensive?
