Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to this but i've just seen a J-rg G60 storm on the autotrader website - for £1,995 - any thoughts on this?

the link should be

!Autotrader link here

Hope that works if not just do a search for it.

All the Best

Rob

P.S. - Ive still got my MK3 Diesel golf for sale - it's mint and I want enough for it to buy a corrado

Mod Edit: Link shortened. VR6

Yeah like FEC says, it's not cheap really. If the head gaskets gone and you can do it yourself, it's a £100 job. If it's not, it could be summat more or less expensive.

Get one you know is OK. No test either, that could cost some brass to obtain. Brakes, brake pipes, CV boots could easily be a load of money.

It's a typo... When you cut and paste it, it reads like it's supposed to...

CORRADO G60, J reg. Storm Blue Metallic with unmarked sports interior, alloys, e/w, e/s/r, e/m, remote c/l, Cat 1 alarm, 71k miles with VWSH, 2 former keepers, good condition, been stood for 6 months and needs a little tlc, no . . . . (trade)

I personally would say that this is somewhat overpriced... 2K with a dodgy head gasket, in need of TLC and has been stood for 6 months?!? hummm... Saying that, it does have VWSH and is low milage for a G60.... :?

Probably worth a look... You may be able to beat him down on price... If you go, go armed with a copy of autotrader with a load of 'rados in it that are better condition for similar prices and see what you can do...

it looks a bit dodgy so I'm staying clear! I hadn't heard of one if it was a rare C i'd be tempted but thanks for the advice. I'm also looking at an H-plate 1.8 16V that looks good on the picture but he wants 1500 for it, is that a bit cheap or average, it's done 150,000 but thats not THAT high or is it?

Any clues on what I should look out for? ask, avoid etc?

Cheers

I would always be wary of a car being sold by a trader (in this case "smart cars") as if it needs work done that is 'suspected', then why don't they bother their arse to fix it before selling it.

of course it could be quite a hard one to take any action on.............afterall how many other traders/car sellers use common colour descriptions......eg diamond white(ford-colour IIRC),alpine white(VAG and Porsche) and BRG(rovers, jaguars etc) on cars/manufacturers that never had cars available in those colours

He says it's blue - a Storm colour.

I reckon that it either has Storm badges on it, or he's talking b*llsh*t

probably the latter though to be fair on the seller he probably doesn't know any difference  .......as some people out there don't know that mystic blue is a storm only colour......i'm sure some people would even describe moonlight blue as a "storm" blue colour too and as you and i both know its quite a bit away from mystic......anyway to my knowledge he/she doesn't describe it as a G60 storm it was just a typo as has been pointed out
