Wet days

Recommended Posts

Hi

My car has decided it doesn't like th rain anymore. Since having some work done on the engine when it is really wet on the roads my car seems to lose a cylinder. It has no power until you reach about 3500 rpm and the it kangeroos and shoots off.

What should I be checking to see if it is getting wet?

Has some one had a similar issue?

When it was in the garage they only took the inlet manifold and the rocker cover off so I can't see how they would have effected something.

Thanks in advance.

(I know the obvious solution is to only drive it in the dry!)

If it only does it in the wet, then it's 99% likely to be electrical related.

Don't really know anything about the valvers, but I'd be checking all your spark plug leads and dizzy are good.

Took the dizzy off and it was nice and clean + dry inside.

Went through each lead checking the connections. Could not see any moisture.

Removed the terminal from the battery and there was a lot of gunk in one of them and it was not on that tight. Cleaned it up tapped it on nice and hard and now my car is fine.

Seems that the wet was impeding the flow of electricity at low revs. As soon as the revs were spun up it genereated enough flow away from the battery.

Always clean your teminals!!!
