I've got a mouse trapped in my air vent...

Recommended Posts

Well so it sounds! I have a bad squeaky sound coming from my front console while driving, i eventually located it to the air vents, when i put my hand over them or press against they stop squeaky, unfortunately i don't have 4 hands to do this while driving, the other rattles in the car don't really bother me but this squeak does :(

Anyone had this before or was able to resolve it? I thought about WD40 but was a little concerned because it's an air vent i don't want a lovely smell of WD40 throughout my cabin.

Please help :)

Lol, the bass makes the rattles worse :D

Anyone know how to pull out these vents?

Surely its not the vents them selves. More the blower?

Are you sure its not the blower motor bearings going. The only way I found to repair was to replace the blower motor.

The Vents just pull out I think, give em a tug and they should just pop out

Yup. If it's the pivots on the vents themselves that are giving you grief, a little blob of grease on there should shut them up.

If it's the actual ducting that's creaking/squeaking the only real way to fix it is to get it all apart and get the ducts covered with some sticky-backed felt. Problem is, to do that you have to the whole centre console out which has lots of hard-to-get-to screws which are often corroded in place :(

Sorry, forgot about this thread, naw it does this when their is no air blower on. When i put my finger against the vent it stops squeaking, i'll try some grease on them, see what happens!
