TomB 0 Posted May 27, 2008 Still, I guess I got a week of ownership before something broke. :D The ignition switch just played a blinder 30 miles from home, and I've just driven back from Hull with my righ hand jammed in the wiring behind the ignition barrel to keep it from cutting out (which is a twist on straight failure I must admit). Worst thing was I was low on petrol, but didn't want to stop in case my luck ran out, so 56mph most of the way. On the positive side of things, I did just avereage 34mpg :D Top tip? Always keep a length of wire long enough to run from the positive terminal of the battery to the starter motor in the glove compartment! Cheers, T
tandino 0 Posted May 27, 2008 Whoopsie! Always good to use a bit of ingenuity to get you home!! Best one i had was in my Audi S2 about 100 miles from home when the throttle cable snapped on the M1!!!, Had to use my mates boot laces through the passenger window, he had to operate the throttle with the laces tied round a Biro pen!!, Even burnt off a 330 Bmw on the way home
