Do the vr6's have a built in immobiliser?

Recommended Posts

Well I hope this takes it forward a bit.

ECU pin data for VW - http://derby.polog40.co.uk/~paul/pindata_vw.pdf go to p30 for vr6.

AFAIK its a grey/white wire for the K line and yellow for the L line, try hooking up directly to the vag com wire along with any 12v and ground as per the connector pinout in my previous post.

You may not need to hook the L line up, as just the K line is for comms, L "wakes" the ecu or something. Also make sure these comms wires arent grounded elsewhere or they wont work.

Am I right in thinking that absolutely none of the late factory VR6's have the old-style fob & dash socket type immobilsers? Factory was chipped keys?

Soooo... if a vehicle has the fob plugin de-activation type then the factory immob part of the ECU must have previously been bypassed, so now easier to replace what's currently there with a Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser?
