i knew using them for half a dozen times would end in something breaking, doesn't it always in a corrado :lol:

 

its just the rubber strap has snapped at the top, can you buy them seperately from VW, also are they corrado specific

 

i notice modern cars seem to use string instead of rubber? is there a reason for this?

have a look on ebay. i've seen brand new pairs of them for sale on there for 7.99

 

and yes I think they are specific to the corrado and maybe mk1 golf?

Or £1.80 each from VW , while you're there get a few sets and sell the extras on Ebay for £7.99 a pair :lol:

you could try doing a mk4 retractable string conversion :)

 

those things look really neat until you drop the parcel shelf, the cover pops off and the tightly wound flat spring launches itself in the air :bad-words: ...some things are best left simple.
