_leon_ 0 Posted July 10, 2008 I'm finally going to be driving the Grand Alpine Route (or La Routes des Alpes) in 3 weeks - which takes you from Thonons Les Bains near Geneva to Menton near Monaco. http://www.route-grandes-alpes.com/pages/home/index.php Trouble is - I'm still unsure of what route to take back. I don't want an epic on the way home - but the thought of motorway for 20+ hours is nasty. I'll have to see Monaco - and wondering whether to do some of the south coast (in either direction - France or Italy) or whether to come back through Italy and Switzerland - or maybe Germany. It might be nice to see some of the coast, then Italy's countryside. But not sure of what I could miss out on doing that. I'll also be stopping in Brugge on the way home. In between - can anyone please offer some ideas and advice from past experience? Thanks a lot. Pics will of course be brought back :)
