is it possible to get a device that turns your mains power from the wall 240v into 12v power.

 

bought something that needs a 12v power supply, thought i had a spare car battery but its been binned now

 

can't find anything online, only stuff that does 12v to 240v, not the other way round

Depending on what kind of current/wattage you need, a computer power supply will do the trick :)

it just says, "operating voltage 12v=" & "Power consumption: max. 150mA"

 

its a "Hochleistungs-Ultraschall-Impulsgenerator mit Lautsprecher" :lol:

 

 

how would i go about connecting to the computer power supply?

Mate I have a 240v - 12v inverter I used to use for RC Car racing, yours for £15 delivered, I can get you photos if you like.

The Battery Charger I had for RC cars was 12v so i could used it trackside of a leisure battery, but as it was charging the night before racing and it was easier to run of mains at home i imported this from Hong Kong. It also allows you to adjust the current :)

Halfords sell them mate....allows you to plug 12v items (coolbox etc) into your household 240v supply....£20

borrowed a motorbike battery for now off a mate, thanks for the help people.

 

not sure i will bother buying anything now, i'll just wait till my mate forgets about the battery :lol:
