Removal Of Windsreen????

Recommended Posts

Guest

I've seen windscreen fitters take 3 out and even with all the right tools its a slow long process, and I am told they often dislike doing it (properly). I've sat with a good book and flask of coffee for 3 hours+ waiting to hear it is out.

Removing all the trim without breaking clips etc takes long enough then it's a matter of cutting through the sealant that bonds the screen to the car using a 'cheesewire' type tool. Some fitters cut through it with a blade but that is 100% guaranteed to damage the paintwork under the sealant.

Do you intend to put the same screen back in?? Or have you got a new one to fit yourself?

I wouldn't......
