Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted December 8, 2003 Mornin' all. Been reading up quite a bit on this - and no-one else seems to have had the same problem (typical, eh?). I used to have the fabled 'press clutch when pulling upto a junction and it stalls' thing - but replacing an imploded damper pot fixed that. The current problem is in this bitterly cold weather. Upon startup, the car revs to 2500rpm, stays there for about 10 seconds then stalls. I can keep it going with a bit of gas pedal, and it takes about a minute before the car runs perfectly. Bit of 'braking with handbrake and keeping the foot on the gas' required at the mo. It fixes itself if I get to drive for about a min without letting the car idle itself. What's stuck/needs cleaning/being a pain?
dr_mat 0 Posted December 8, 2003 Ask VAG-COM! If nothing on there I'd blame the ISV, dontcha think?
Supercharged 2 Posted December 8, 2003 Yeah, could be lots of things but maybe give the ISV a tap with a small hammer first or maybe clean it over night.

dr_mat 0 Posted December 10, 2003 Often the way... Mine has started missing when it's cold and damp. I don't really wanna think about what it might be caused by....... I spend too much money on the beast at the best of times!
