Jim 2 Posted January 1, 1970 Ok folks... In short, I bought one of these hoping to be able to finally recieve radio, as ever since swapping from my Sony head unit to a Pioneer one, all I can recieve is static / interference. I can obviously work out you plug it in between the aerial feed and the head unit, but cant work out where I am supposed to attach the power feed for it. It has a very tiny crocodile clip on it. I'll hold my hands up and say that I am NOT very good at installing car head units - I know how to attach the ISO block fine, but going beyond that its a bit blurry.. Any help.... please? :)
brookescourt 0 Posted January 1, 1970 I attatched mine to a switched live. They just amplify the interferrance though.
Jim 2 Posted January 1, 1970 I was just doing a bit of back reading through the Yahoo group - apparently there is a black cable which should come along side the actual aerial feed - this black cable should be attached to the remote line, to provide power to the aerial base. I didnt spot any such wire the last time I was poking about behind the dash, so maybe this is what I am missing. I will have a proper look again tomorrow and see if I can find it.. might be whats causing the problems!
brookescourt 0 Posted January 1, 1970 I have a black cable attached to my ariel lead but it is an earth supply. I think poor reception is just something we have to live with.
corradokid 0 Posted January 1, 1970 It is not an earth supply, its the power feed for the standard aerial booster. Connect it to the remote/electric aerial output of your stereo.
Banana Man 0 Posted November 26, 2002 I installed a bee sting aerial to my old mk2 golf once and and I had 2 wires coming out of the actual aerial 1 red and 1 black the black one had to be earthed at a suitable point at the back of the car and the red wire connected to the black wire that runs along the aerial coax to the front of the car which I then fed off the swithched live on the back of the head unit and it worked fine I don't know if this is the same as the corrado aerial as I haven't taken out the head lining out of mine yet but I would have thought it was the same set up as it was a genuine VAG bee sting aerial I used on my mk2 golf hope this helps a little. :drinking:
Hans G60.nl 0 Posted May 28, 2003 what is very important when you put on a new aerial: be sure that you buy one witch built in amplifier, be sure the foot of the antenna has good connection with the body of your car, otherwise the amplifier won't do its work properly
