MArrado 0 Posted September 17, 2008 Hi all, Im having an intermittent problem with the engine on my VR6 cutting out - the occuranace seems to be at random (not just on long or short journeys) and each time it has been as i dis-engage the clutch while slowing down and turning....like on entry to rbt's and negotiating junctions! The car starts again without any problems .... its just a bit scarey when the power steering vanishes...and dangerous! The car is chipped, inducted and think has high lift cams (due to the lumpy running before warm) It happens about once a week but is starting to weigh on my mind. I'd advise trying a new ECU and fuel pump relay and also an ignition switch if they have not been changed recently, may not fix the issue but will rule three critical components out. PROVR6 0 Posted September 18, 2008 This happened on my first ever car, a Ford Escort, Cut out on me at a roundabout once :gag: when downshifting and caused others to brake.
