quick question need help..

Recommended Posts

hey wats up..

i have a 92 corrado i bought about 8 months ago...i love the car but have had nothing but problems since the day i bought it..neways to cut a long story short i ended up installing a rebuilt engine hoping it would fix most of the problems...unfortunatly i ran into another one today...i was shifting from first to second...i think i was a bit to agressive and suddenly my entire shifter just came free from the transmission..it wont change gears, go into neutral or anything. it just moves around freely...i was about 30 miles from home and was not about to call a tow truck so i sorta played with it and i think i ended up in fourth gear and drove it all the way home probably doing a ton of damage to the clutch from riding the clutch from a dead stop in fourth...a few times..but i was relieved to know it wasnt my tranny that was broken...neway can anybody give me any advice on what they think the problem is..and if it is easy enough to fix or should i have it professionally done...im hoping this doesnt require the removal of the tranny....im not very savy when it comes to repairing cars but if i have some good advice and its not to serious im hoping i can fix this myself..any input is appreciated..

thanks...
