NON Starting some of the time!!!!!!

Hope someone can help me as this problem is really starting to pee me off

 

Its a 95 VR6

 

Put key in turn to start the car, Car turns over but will not fire. All I get is a clicking relay. I put in a new relay for the fuel pump thinking that was the problem, did not help.

The thing is the car will somtimes start and sometimes it wont. If it was a bad earth would it not start all of the time.

 

Anybody got any ideas what else I might change

X releif relay has been changed and the car has started for a few weeks fine.

 

Today wont start again same problem.

 

Will the Iginition switch problem fail all of the the time or can it then work ok the next day when they are failing.

Any Ideas anyone

Ignition switch can be pretty random at working. My money's on that.

To make this clear, does the engine always turn over when you turn the ignition key, with it sometimes firing up and sometimes not?

Or does it sometimes turn over and sometimes not (with just a clicking sound) being heard when you turn the ignition key?

When it fails to start the engine turns over with the starter going but will not fire.

Woody - has the ignition switch been changed for a new black one yet? - if not change it!!
