aki 0 Posted December 1, 2008 hi just a quickie has anybody had any problems fitting 90/130 and 130 watt bulbs in the headlights (obviously with uprated wiring) i was just wondering with the reflectors being plastic has anybody managed to melt them? time will tell if the alternators upto the job......approx 37 amp drain with main beam on!! by my calculations! cheers! andy
vwdeviant 0 Posted December 1, 2008 Great way of killing the relectors... Why they heck would you want to go to those wattages? Get decent light units and an uprated loom... or HIDs...
coolrado 0 Posted December 1, 2008 I have had 120w bulbs (on the H3 high beams only) for 2 years and the reflectors are absolutely fine, theres no way I would use higher wattage bulbs on the dipped beams though, they would be far too bright for oncoming traffic. davidwort 0 Posted December 1, 2008 100W main beam H4's with standard 60W spots H3's (relayed up) is plenty bright enough for me, 130W is just going to make far too much heat and road signs/cones etc will give you far too much reflection I reckon. Lufbramatt 0 Posted December 1, 2008 just get a set of osram nightbreaker +90% bulbs, £11.49 a pair off ebay at the mo :) better light output without the masive amount of extra heat and current draw.
