name this part please

its a 1.8 KR engine, it sits beneath the injector pipes and just in front of the rocker cover.

its got one wire connected to it with a crimp,

please excuse the rubbish drawing :lol: but thats kinda what it looks like,

the connection on mine is loose and i was gonna replace it, is there a certain one i would need to buy,

i was looking on GSF's website but im not sure what to get.

 

if it was broken what symptoms would i get as everything seems to be fine.

 

any help is appreciated, Ross.

i think what you are describing is the ambiant air temp sensor,it switches on the fan when there is to much heat under bonnet when the ingnition is turned off.

 

Cant see it being much use in the UK....

It's a temp sensor, for the run on fan on the 16vs I believe. I can't quite make your picture out properly though.

If your under bonnet temperature is too high, it switches the fan on. (try earthing the wire to it to see what happens) The idea is that it keeps the fuel lines cool, so the fuel doesn't vapourise and cause starting issues.
