BBM charger 50mm over boost problem

Recommended Posts

Hay guys. My G60 is being mapped and set up and we put the 440cc injectos in and the fueling is perfect! im running the 50mm pully with the BBM charger, 1.9 bore, piper cam etc and at low end its great power like 190BHP at 2000 revs but as it gets to 5000ish the power just falls and tryd to go over 1.5bar of boost and be comes unstable and un efficient.

HAs anyone else had remaps with the 50mm pully on BBM screw charger and have problems?

Please help

Thanks

Are you looking at the graph right, sure the line your saying is the torque, basically the bottom line is HP top is torque?

I would say the head is flowed and is coping with the boost then at higher levels its getting unstable, the whole problem of the 8v counterflow design, basically naff.

yer its a flowed head by the engine shop.. problem is aswell my mate at backdraft motorsport said map sensors only go to 1.5bar.

Iv been on the BBM site and using the 53mm pully will be 1.3 car rather than the 50mm which im using now and produces 1.5+ bar

So im feeling that the 53mm pully is the way forword and resolve the issue! what do u think?

Thanks

Paul

I cant remember exactly when they put a new MAP sensor on mine but either when the BBM was done or the turbo, they used the MAP sensor off a MK4 golf i believe then went 3 bar MAP sensor but im sure the issue was still there.

Yea do the 53mm by all means, it cant hurt.
