*Urgent wiring help needed!!!!!!! *

Recommended Posts

So to add to my current corrado woes this afternoon I was driving along and the radio dies and plumes of smoke start filling the car from around the steering wheel cowling.... :(

It was the igninition live shorting out at the ignition swtich end, completely melted and snapped. Basically anyone know how to remove the pins from the block connectors? Sorry about the dodgy arrow but hopefully you get what I mean

Cheers guys/gals

Blimey mate - you sorted the leads yet?

Just wondering if it's related to that issue...

The pins come out with a special tool but you can use a very thin screwdriver to push the locking tabs down

Yeah sorted the leads mate, cheers for the heads up on vwspares. Which side do I need to attach from, had a poke about but still seems fairly solid....

Yeah I think the screwdriver needs to be less than 1m across the flats mate... you feed it in in the middle between the plastic and the metal prongs - you really need to do both sides at the same time to release...

I checked the price for leads for your car at TPS - £73 + vat so I assume the VWspares ones were cheaper...

Right I'll give it another go. Leads were £68 delivered from vwspares, rang them and they turned up 8.30am the next day. Top service.

Cheers for the info mate
