ed 0 Posted January 29, 2009 the light has gone on the auto shifter so in the dark i cant see what gear im in when i opened up the plastic lid where the vagcom connection resides i found a green plastic tube that a bulb sits inside got the tube off but struggled to get the bulb out and broke it, leaving the connections still in place can anyone help me get the rest of the bulb out and find out what bulb i need and how to fit in so i can have my light back? thanks :) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
fla 9 Posted January 30, 2009 Its very fiddly - dont lose the green cover as this helps to focus the light on the ger you are in. I changed mine to red (led) some years back, and i cut eh bulb out and just soldered an led in. One leg had to be wire wrapped as there was no space for the soldering iron. Its not too difficult, just fiddly, so take your time or you'll melt all the plastic. BTW, as an aside, have you changed your tranny fluid and filter? If not, do so and reset the tranny ecu.
