will a 2E 8v ECU run ABF 16v engine?

hi there im doin an ABF conversion on my 8v rado, iv come across a slight stumbling block! ECUs! does any one know if the 8v ECU will work for the ABF engine? they both have the same part numbers (the ECU for the 2E and the ABF) i was thinking maybe it might possibly just need a remap to get it to perform better on the ABF? any ideas cheers

oh the other possiblity is could i just take an ECU dump from an ABF ECU and use it on the 2E ECU?

I wouldn't of thought so.

For a start does a 2e engine have a toothed wheel on the crank and a VR sensor like the abf does?

ANd you'd have to be sure that the pinouts on the 2e ecu matched the ecu pinouts on the abf?

 

Maybe someone will contradict me but I would be looking for an ABF ecu

thanks 4 the help, yer i believe it does have the toothed wheel, and the sensor! i have bought an ECU for an ABF only problem is i think its meant to have an immo, and i dont have an immo! and it sounds like its almost impossible to get an immo ECU to work on a non immo car!

the hardware from the two ECUs are the same which is why i was wondering if its just the info on it, and weather it could be changed?

I wouldnt of thought so either. the 2E doesnt normally have crank sesnor
