the two sensors in the water pipe

hi just a quicky

being as i think the wiki is down

 

can anyone tell me what the two water sensors fitted on the pipe just before it goes into the engine block

at the front do

i think ones for the ecu and the other the rad temp but not 100% sure

also do they wear out and is it best to change them every say 2 years or something

 

the car not feeling as crisp as it used to so ive already changed the lamba sensor and it passed its mot C.O fine yesterday

so im doing abit of head scratching

wot engine? if g60 black is dash temp and blue is coolant temp fr ecu

They dont wear out as such, the blue one which goes to the ECU can affect performance if it goes faulty as mine did after 14yrs but if the car passed emission test ok then its unlikely to be that, also with mine it affected the idle making it hunt from 800-1500 rpm. Its worth checking around the vacuum pipes & intercooler pipes for leaks if you havent already as that can have affects on performance & running.
