ELECTRIC WINDOW PROBLEMS!!

After a heavey frost the night before i jumped in the car in the morning without waiting 4 it 2 defrost proarly went for the drivers window was pessing the button like f#@k, after the frost had thawed the window had stopped working, i can still hear the motor clunking when you press the switch, the window drops down about a 1" sometimes and wont go back up, i have had the door card off several times 2 have a look but i have no idea whats wrong and how 2 go about fixing it, any help guys much appreciated.

Had a similar problem recently. Took it all apart, including removing glass from its holder. (Although the glass remained in the door)

Put it all back together and it worked fine.

My conclusion was it had stuck in the runners and the removal and refit had loosened it off.

Not sure if this helps, but it might :)

there is a plastic bit on the end of the metal upright, its where the cable joins, does the cable move around when you press the switch? The plastic thing can snap off

Took the door card off again, tryed pressing the switch to see if the cable moved but nothing was happening i did notice that the cable was very slack could this have anything to do with it?
