KipVR 1 Posted April 1, 2009 Show glass finish? You should ask him to write down just what it is he does for that extra money- paint quality? Is that for a full bare metal respray? Could you take the glass out to help with costs? It's sometimes quicker to take the glass out anyway- not necessarily for the corrado though. All paintwork should be finished properly unless the customer wants it to have the orange peel finish the car cam from factory with to make a repair blend in better. Can you cut costs down by just having the flanks done maybe? Does the roof and pillars need doing?
jassonvr6 0 Posted April 1, 2009 What do u mean the glass doesnt need to come out on the corrado?? To do a good job Yes i would of thought :) My roof does need doin after the screen was fitted badly years ago!!! :censored: But i want the whole car done....Got to chat to "K" and ask him what he means by the show finish!!! I want that but dont want to pay £500+vat for it  :cuckoo: What the hell does the paint look like without it  cant wait to see what he says  it must be all in the clear coats  will try and call him again tom  Dont think i will get him to do the job anyways......but do look a good firm :)
KipVR 1 Posted April 1, 2009 No I just meant it's not necessarily quicker to take the glass out.....You definately need to do it. :D
KADVR6 0 Posted April 1, 2009 4k for a spray job is expensive, especialy if the following day some arse decides your cars way to shiny for a old vw and takes a key to it :( have you looked at wet sanding it, and then polishing it up, you will be amazed at how good it will look after that. DIGGER B 0 Posted April 1, 2009 I can recommend a paint shop in kent if you want to come down this way
Abdul 0 Posted April 1, 2009 Thanks for that Big_K,i will keep them i mind!! Where abouts in east London are they? So come on guys/girls any1 help me out with some info :D thanks  Its in Barking mate, near Ilford. A full colour change type respray with custom work (smoothing, mental arches etc) would *probably* be 3.5k upwards....
swiftkid 1 Posted April 2, 2009 In answer to your question, i belive 'glass finish' is just that, its a really deep paint finish. you know when you get a brand new set of alloy wheels they are really shiney and impressive and you can see your reflection? well a glass finish is like a mirror finish in the paint and you could probably see blocked pores in your paint. It depends what you want it for, if your wanting to win shows then glass finish would be for you. if its going to be your daily and your going to park up in the car park at shows i wouldn't bother
