herisites 0 Posted June 17, 2009 Don't forget an ARB (anti-roll bar) for the rear, Neuspeed 25mm or even 28mm if tracking it! Stiffens up the rear and sharpens turn in.
Jim 2 Posted June 17, 2009 > upper and lower front strut braces, rear strut brace, better shocks and suspension. Well yeah - these will all improve handling but might be a bit OTT! going to cost you a pretty penny! > better tyres (r888?) These are supposed to be excellent but not if it's raining... stick with some decent road tyres with good wet weather performance as it sure does rain a lot around that region in Germany! > bucket seats (anyone know how to fit them? do I weld corrado subframes to them?) Again, probably overkill unless you're really really serious about this! > seat harnesses. See previous comment! > Samco hoses Again - possibly overkill.. standard 16v hoses are pretty tough! > full service Definately worth doing before you set off. > Oil cooler (will this help with a 16v) Refer to our earlier discussion :) > back seats removed. Bear in mind removing them will change the weight distribution of the car (in so much as it was built and setup with them in place) - the back end of the Corrado does have a reputation of stepping out on occasion and I'd assume lightening up the back end would only amplify that issue. Thanks for the info. I will try not to go too OTT. I think bucket seats will be on the cards, two reasons; my front seat are worn and when I went round in my friends corrado vr6 I did feel like I was coming out of the seat quite a bit. Also the reason I was gonna get the strut braces is I had upper and lower ones on my mk1 gti. It made the handling alot tighter and more responsive. Good call on the tyres. I will look for good all round tyres. What about a brake upgrade? g60? Thanks for the help.

Flexso 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Hi guys, Just quick update on the lil monster. Took it to GTI internationals. Had a great time. Popped it on the dyno and got a read out of: 144 hp, 130lbs torque Not bad for a old car a thought. Also parked up in the CCGB for a while. Really nice guys. Since then I have got some new apex rear springs and bump stops. So they are on now. Much better ride than before. (pics coming) But this could all become irrelevent, as Im looking for a VR6 now. :( I do massively love my car, but the car just hasnt got a torque that I want. Plus its all about the sound of a VR!!!! :D , Just wish it had a bigger under that bonnet. I hope you guys dont think im crazy for wanting to make the jump? Flexso 0 Posted July 27, 2009 wahey! congrats, I guess it'll be shown off at the next NR? Oh yes it will be there for no rice in september. I did love the car though. Are you gonna be there?
Flexso 0 Posted July 27, 2009 nice one, im sure it wont take long to get over it with your new VR, much better car imo!! :D I do agree Ben. I bought the VR6 for cheap!!! with a few problems. stalling ocassionally. Rear spoiler not working and a cracked windscreen. Also when I bought it on the drive back the fan motor actually caught on fire!!!! No joke. But now its all sorted and running as sweet as a nut. It was just one of those cars where the previous owner had not cared for it at all. I have to say that the VR is a much more refined drive, smoother and with the power that the corrado always needed. Its a shame better really the 16v was alot harsher drive and quite under powered. But my 16v was a much better looking car 8)
