Light Steering

After doing a little work on the steering wheel height adjustment mechanism, my power steering seems to have become excessively light and easy. While this makes it easier on my arms, I feel as though I've lost alot of feel for the car's handling.

 

My steering used to be reassuringly firm and direct, now it feels light, fluffy and almost uncertain... What could have possibly caused this?

Define "a little work" ... !

Hardly anything. There's a pin which holds the selected height of the steering wheel in position. It had worked itself loose, so I pushed it back in place and applied a little locktight screwholder to keep it in place.
