PhatVR6 0 Posted January 5, 2004 Might be the blue coolant temp sensor?

stevemac 0 Posted January 5, 2004 chhers mate- whats the best way to check this ? thanks... Disconnect it & see if it makes a difference. Not sure on the VR but on the G60 there is also a black temp sensor (for the gauge). Put the plug from the blue (ECU) sensor onto the black sensor instead. If this cures your problem then the blue sensor is faulty.
PhatVR6 0 Posted January 5, 2004 The black one on the VR is for air con.
stormseeker 0 Posted January 5, 2004 3 sensors on the VR are for ECU, temp gauge and fan control
2cc 0 Posted January 5, 2004 Hi mk2vr6, I have the same quite often with my vr6C. I changed the blue temp sensor which made no difference. If you blip the throttle about half travel & release, then hold about quarter open as you turn the key it should start more readily (does for me anyway). I'm pretty sure it mentions this in the owners handbook, so apart from being slightly annoying it has to be fairly normal.
