You say that but wait until you find that the wipers are crap and the headlights work about as well as candles. That's just the start! ;)

I was keeping an eye on pistonheads too for that one ;)

It's mad the amount of people don't respond to enquiries about cars for sale. I've emailed 5 people in the last week and not one has responded to my enquiries and that includes two traders!!

It will give around 15 bhp and rev better. You can get the cam for around £20 and will be around 1 hour labour.Do a search ;) Good opportunity to change the rocker cover gasket while you're in there ;) Which local garages do you use? Blake Services in Thrupp near Stroud are very good- they've looked after my last 2.0 16v, VR6 and now my Octavia vRS.

Not heard of them. TBH, I'd go with a VW specialist. There's a good (but quite pricey one) in Stonehouse, as well as Blake Services (as mentioned above :) ). There's also a very good place in Bristol called Streetwise, who I will try in the summer as their MOT/Service (using genuine parts) offer is amazing!

Or look up DG Autotech.... :)

Was gonna suggest that too- fair bit further to travel (although undoubtably worth it!). Bear in mind, you'll probably come back from there with a 400bhp monster

I've not had work done by them, but I trust them both completely. I want to follow Dave around all day learning stuff. :luvlove:

Wot Tom said /\/\/\

They totally know their stuff. Really good guys who are both total enthusiasts themselves, which makes a big difference IMHO. Dave's car is pure genius!
