warm air initially from cabin fan

Recommended Posts

Perhaps the VR is just a warm engine bay, but after the car has been parked up for a few minutes, on restarting the fans kick out a fair amount of warm air before going cold (wihtou a/c being on). Also, when the sun is out, it almost does not become cool at all. Is there any way to get round this? I am pulling the engine out this weekend (to swop the tranny) so can i use any Damplifier perhaps as a heat shield somewhere?

After you stop the car and the air stops being distributed by the fans, the heat is bound to build up around the heater matrix (inside the car) and ducting over the course of a couple of minutes so when the fans then kick in shortly after, it's going to churn out all that hot air presumably.

you're probably right. How do newer cars get around this, ie how could i modify the ductwork to reduce this?
