Dan_Storm 0 Posted January 10, 2004 This is probably very obvious but here goes. I'm trying to flush the coolant, replace the thermostat and refill the coolant. I've read all the threads on here about the subject, but I'm stuck on getting access to the thermostat housing. There are sensors just above the housing, and a plastic cover over the sensors. I cannot remove this cover. It is loose and feels like it will pull out, but doesn't appear to. I don't want to start yanking too hard incase I break something. There is also no cover shown in the Bentley manual.... Anyone got any tips? Cheers
Dan_Storm 0 Posted January 10, 2004 Worked it out. Removing the cover was simply a case of pulling it from either side while giving it a tug. After looking into it I don't know if i'm going to bother. Access to the thermostat housing is awful! Doesn't help with the extra space the air-con takes. I can get access to remove the 2 bolts furthest away from the engine, but the 3rd bolt (nearest the engine) has a tiny amount of clearance below it. I don't think i've got any tools (allen keys/allen key sockets) that will get in there.... Anyone who's done this got any tips or should I get a garage to do it. Supercharged 2 Posted January 10, 2004 You could buy a set of round head long allen keys, the round head allows them to be used at an angle (of upto about 45 degrees)
