Mawrick 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Anyone know the part number for the stearing joints for a 1995 VR6? I got some from the dealer but I'm unsure if they are correct, they have the numbers: 191 419 811 (left) 191 419 812 (right) Are they supposed to be correct?. Also on my car it doesn't seem there is any "counter locking nut" (one to thighten this joint after it's aligned), is it just supposed to be screwed directly on without any nut being screwed the oposit way? davidwort 0 Posted August 17, 2009 191 is a mk2 golf part, so I think they've given you 4 cylinder Corrado ones
Mawrick 0 Posted August 17, 2009 That's what I fear, as all the other parts I got also was for Corrado's with other engines then the VR6. Any idea about the correct part for the VR6?
davidwort 0 Posted August 17, 2009 no, actually those parts are right I've just checked, the track rods are different but the track rod ends are actually the same part on 4cyl and 6 cylinder Corrados
Supercharged 2 Posted August 17, 2009 Yeah ends are the same as above - just the rods on a VR are slightly longer for the widetrack!
Mawrick 0 Posted August 17, 2009 ahh, ok, thnx guys!...:) btw are they supposed to just be screwed on without having a nut to "lock" them ? (as mine doesn't seem to have a locking nut), and a guy I spoke with thought they originaly would come with only one of the rods being adjustable (mine seem that both are adjustable). Supercharged 2 Posted August 17, 2009 Yeah should both be adjustable and have locknuts - only MK2's came with one side fixed
