mr_ed 0 Posted August 22, 2009 My windscreen has a drip coming through the sealant at the top and also gives off a whistle when traveling along, what is the best way of sorting this? If i call out autoglass or similar will they remove the screen and refit it properly or is there another way? all help appreciated :D
VR6 South 0 Posted August 22, 2009 Stick a chip in it and get it done on your insurance. Insist on a genuine VW screen as many of the pattern ones will tend to whistle.
STU175 0 Posted August 22, 2009 hate to say it but usual reason for this is rust around the aperture where the glue sticks to :( resealing is a bodge and will lead to more problems trapping the water in. go with the above and be there to check condition if rusty dont let them put the new one in till sorted i was a windscreen fitter and know some fitters will just not say anything and stick in the new one to get the job done!
