Non Corrado handles can look ok but they're a LOT more work obviously compared with the simple route of spraying your existing handles.

 

You could de-lock by using Passat handles.

 

Either way, just follow the usual method for spraying (the guides for tinting rear lights probably applies here) ... lots of sanding/keying and making sure the area to be sprayed is flat and clean. Spray and rub back and spray again.

 

Mine are looking tired now but they lasted a good 5 years of looking great before needed some new paint.

with the handles being used quite often, do you do anything different than if you were painting a panel or something? to stop them quickly looking bad

Didn't do anything special with mine - just a couple of coats and lacquer. The key is in the prep. However, I seem to remember my prep involving about 3 litres of vodka redbull though so not sure if that helped or not. Give it a whirl anyway :grin:

if someone hasnt cable tied the wire going into it so tight you cant move it, like mine was :(
