Early and late spec help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I have searched the knowledge base and the forum and can't seem to find the answer to my query so was hoping one of you knowledgable types may be able to help me out....please

I just want to know what year the late spec VR6's run from? and what difference there is over the earlier spec cars?

Thank you very much :notworthy:

Dan

Cheers for that mate, it does answer the differences question but what year car is classed as later spec? is it K plate onwards?

The early VR`s were K plates ,so really later ones are from late K onwards.

However there are cars caught in the crossover period.

Late K plates can be late specs.

Likewise early L plates can be early specs.

Confused you will be :)

The easiest way to confirm is the later engines have coilpacks, later interiors have round heater controls-----easy!!!

Unfortunatly you might be out of luck there mate, obviously by ideal car you mean a G60 8) and they only came with the early interior.

All Vr6's are classed as 'late spec' really, as the changes were brought on by the need for more space in the engine bay when the VR6 was introduced in 1992. There are a few 'crossover' VR6's which came with the early interior (different dash/switches etc) but they're fairly rare :)

Enjoy the hunt!
