odd sub/headunit issue

The basic info

 

I have a sony bluetooth mp3 headunit, had it nearly 3 years I think. I use my mobile phone to stream music to headunit, I fitted a sub and amp recently. My headunit has no pre outs so I use RCA adapters..It worked well for a while. but then it started going funny...the sub only worked when listening to the radio and not when I listened to a CD or Aux or the bluetooth :cuckoo:

 

Then it went back to normal.

 

Now it has the same problem and doesnt look like its gonna fix itself again

 

A friend of mine seems to think its the headunit processor might be on the way out? :shrug:

 

Jus thought I'd ask the rado boards to
