wierd high pitch whirr/buzz

Recommended Posts

also.. to my many queries.

have noticed that when the car is cold there is an incredibly annoying whirr which increases in pitch with the revs. I dont think it can be heard outside, can hear it really well in the car.

sounds a bit like the high pitch of when a washing machine is going, really weird. I dont think it happens when the car has been driven for a while, anybody know what this is?

i have read on here about a whirr coming from the aux pump, i changed mine recently cos it sounded terrible, was really loud and then changed to a still second hand one. I dnt think its related to the water pump though.

In the wiki there is a guide to replacing the tensioner bearing which is easy enough to follow and it only cost me a fiver. Do a search on yell.com for bearings to find your local seller.
