VR6 Over Revs when I give it beans - please help

When in low revs and I give it some beans the engine is over reving and the power is not coming through. It's something similar to what you would expect if you had the clutch down slightly but I am sure its not this??

 

As a point of interest I recently had the head casket done and this is pretty much when this problem started so i wonder whetehr the two might be associated?

 

Any help you can provide would be much appreicated. thanks

everthing i read sugests it's the clutch (although not totally convinced) so i am going to go with this - any idea of costs, decent garage in bournemouth area?

To test clutch, try and set off in 1st gear with the handbrake on. If the engine stalls then the clutch is ok, if it doesn't the clutch is goosed. Don't try it for too long, or the clutch will be knackered.

Ummm maybe you should try petrol insted of beans, Might help a bit :brickwall:

I exclusively use Shell opti-heinz beans - the power delivery is definitely smoother!!!
