oil temp issue on MFA

Recommended Posts

Weird one here - the oil temp suddenly no longer shows on my car just a set of dashes ---- Everything else is fine, the sensor is new, the spade has been remade and the connector at the back of the clocks is properly seated. Would this be related to the voltage regulator? Also, where does the green wire from the sender on the oil filter housing come out to - i want do a continuity test on that next. Thanks

you can have a look at G2 connector of the fusebox, pin number 1 (green - black coloured) I think is the one that comes from oil temp sender.

then, inspect U1 connector at the back of the fusebox. Wire number 1 of this connector (black - white coloured) goes to the dash plug pin number 17

hope it helps ;)

good stuff Arnau, just what i needed to know. Problem is, i've just struggled to refit the relay panel properly, but now that you mention it this is probably what has upset it.

glad to know it helped you :)

I am still having (different) issues with mfa and oil temp....

if you find the cause, please post it in the first post so anyone can have a look at it in the future :)

BUMP! Hi fla, I bought the oil sensor from you if you remember.

I have the same problem replaced the sensor and remade the spade but still --- on the MFA.

Did you find out what was wrong with yours? Was it the G2 connector or the U1 connector like krnau suggested?

Will check those myself later in the week but just found this thread after I'd called it a day.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian,

mine was very simple, the green connector was loose at the back of the relay panel as the lock was still open on it. Just pressed it in again and locked the connectors.

yep! The panel is a real pain to get out and refit again so try not to pull it out too far.

Yeah I remember I was in there removing an old alarm system a while back so probably disturbed it then.

Thanks again for your help.

Ian
