temperature gauge

Recommended Posts

just a quick question, my temperature gauge seems to creep up quite high then will drop a bit, but it doesn't seem to stay in one place? :confused4: is this normal?? a friend said that in the hand book it says this will happen, but its fine as long as the warning light does not flash?!?!? :confused4:

Maybe is doesnt have a good connection to the sender?

I dont know where to look for that but thats one idea for the problem.

I dont think that the gauge will bounce up and down... Mine has never done that :cuckoo:

Look up the part on internet to se how it looks and then trow yourself in to the engine bay and search for it!

Look at the radioator or something similar.

Ahh, im not actually familiar with the rado's 2.0 8v lump...

It will possibly have:

Some senders on the right hand side of the cylinder head with spade terminals. If so, snip them off and replace with new spade terminals to be sure they have a good connection.

Or it may have a black temp sender in the top radiator hose, check the condition of the wiring to this sender (two wires) and possibly replace the sender.

The above is just guess work going off other models really.

Neil.
