USA Spec Corrado ISO Adapter: Dont want to butcher original

Recommended Posts

Hi people,

my uncle owns a USA spec Corrado G60 (he imported it in 89 before any rados had arrived in the uk) which has its original US Headunit in it still. problem is the radio is playing up and the tape deck is pretty useless these days.

Does anyone know of a US audio supplier who can do a adapter to fit a Universal ISO block?

I had a look at a UK spec ISO adapter from Halfords and the power harness fits fine but the speaker wiring is different as a USA spec rado has a extra speaker in the middle of the dash so there is a extra set of pins to power the middle speaker by bridging the pos from legt an neg from right speaker ( i think)

Cheers for your help, thought it worthg asking before i begin chopping wires.

Dave I dont think its that simple. You sure your speaker system isnt an Activ system? If it isnt, I'd add this http://www.autoleads.co.uk/products/harness.html

and then go to a auto-electrician and ask them to add the splice for the spur for the additional loudspeaker. This way, if you need to go back to standard, you simply pull this out of the circuit and you are back to normal.
