re-covering leather steering wheel

Recommended Posts

Started this a little while back as the wheel i bought was totally mullered, actually worse than it looked in the pictures when i got it. Anyway, another nice indoor project for cold days.

Its a flat-bottoms wheel, 330mm isotta.

Firstly given a good clean with a sponge and some handsoap, it even changed colour!

Then measured up some felt to go around the top portion in one piece.

Placed this on to the leather piece i had for an approxiamte fit. Cut the leather roughly to size. Now need to case the leather and stretch it over the wheel tightly before trimming the excess and then stitching it on properly. I'll update this thread as i go along:ETKA Corrado.pdf03112009657.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdf03112009658.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]Corrado92.pdf03112009660.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf03112009661.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf03112009663.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf03112009664.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]03112009666.jpg[/attachment:2g40cm5x]
