g60pops 0 Posted January 19, 2004 Can i use a Golf mk3 8 valve rubber rocker cover gasket or is the G60 one unique to G60s? Also as it is a rubber gasket do i need to smear it with grease or gasket sealant? Also what is the torquing order of the eight nuts? cheers
Banana Man 0 Posted January 19, 2004 mk2 gti 8v or mk3 8v rocker gaskets will do the trick I do the nuts in the smae sequence as you would do with the head bolts the 4 centre bolts first doing opposites so back centre left then front centre right then back centre right and so on the the 4 outer nuts also in opposites, If I recall correctly they should be done upto 15ib of torque no need for instant gasket as the rubber gaskets are excellent the bolt holes in them have little metal spacers so you cant compress the gasket too much. Easy job in all take about 10 mins and only cost ya 5 quid genuine
Supercharged 2 Posted January 19, 2004 Just use a bit of oil, no sealant required
