Rear side windows, still available from vw?

Hi,

 

New to the form so go easy :)

 

Are the bonded side windows still available from vw? Reason I ask is I would like to do a glass out respray on a corrado.

Yes they are available from VW and they are about £250 each. I'm having a windows out spray job in a couple of weeks so I enquired with VW about three weeks ago. Safe to say when I picked myself up off the floor of the parts department I told them I'd try to remove them via the non destructive method.

 

The bentley manual does show to cut the widow out via the outer rubber but after speaking to a few people in the know, it turns out that if your careful you can remove them without damaging them.

 

Best to speak with a bodyshop that has removed them before.

I know of a bodyshop that has painted corrado's before so I will talk to them tomorrow.

I had the same knee trembling when i found out the price! But I removed mine without damaging them,but the method they use in the bently manual is rubbish!

Hi there - just try your local autoglass place, they are made by SEKURIT with a green tint and the ones they supply with be the same just without the VW logo - much cheaper!

I got mine replaced by autoglass in December through my insurance. Only cost 70 quid but your original would have to "get broken" first.
