t00mm 0 Posted January 31, 2010 Thought i might aswell post my slow progress up. I picked this fine example up after a few weeks searching.... I neeeded a Automatic.. One Lady owner and full VW service history and a reconditioned transmission and Engine 30,000 miles ago From first glance she was waaaay too high! Even beleive she was higher than standard So that had to be sorted pronto! Not low enough yet. still working out where to relocate the cat to. (lowest part of the car by a mile off) It didnt take me long to find a nice set of BBS RS's from Tatton with a little help from my guys from www.dubshire.co.uk Thought i best start giving them a proper refurb and bite the bullet by splitting the rims, 40mins later before it started raining Not too bad. But i had to send them off to "Mike the Polisher" dude to time restrictions oh and a cheeky shot inbetween sorting the rims out http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak ... 9029_n.jpg Lips were polished and came out niceley http://i450.photobucket.com/albums/qq23 ... These are not 5x100 so don't forget to factor in adaptors. They are available in 17" VW specific ET33 5x100 7.5x17, the model is RS 301 and they are elusive and expensive. Other PCD sizes can fit with adaptors depending on the offset

shaung60 0 Posted May 4, 2010 looks nice.... what's with the handle under the steering column though? I'll have a guess at it being hand control of the pedals. Anyway that's a clean looking interior. Love the gold bolts. And are you going to colour the centres of the wheels?
Dude VR6 0 Posted May 4, 2010 Nice, got any pictures of the wheels on the car ? And what are you going to do with your old speedlines ?

t00mm 0 Posted May 4, 2010 Steering wheel is a Momo Team 300mm feels pretty responsive and is a nice touch, not to small in my opinion. The "handle" under the steering wheel is a hand control for me to access the throttle and brake seeing as I'm a wheelchair user. Guys I am still waiting for adapters to fit the RS's. I have been waiting for 7 weeks for my order to come through. Numerous phone calls and I'm still waiting. Trust me there will be lots of pictures when they are fitted! Cheers for the decent comments
hodaz 0 Posted May 5, 2010 That steering wheel looks super nice, may have to treat myself to one next payday as all the leather has worn through on my standard wheel. Should look amazing on the RS'.

It looks like a pretty substantial bit of kit... any pics of how it works? (yeah, I'm an engineering geek and things like this intrigue me... :geek:  8) )

(yeah, I'm an engineering geek and things like this intrigue me... :geek:  8) ) My sister had the same, they normally just work on an X style linkage principal i.e. pull to accelerate and push forward to brake. Its weird to start with but you soon get used to it. Cars looking good by the way.
