20l 8v wont run

Recommended Posts

hi people in big need of some help here. i have a g60 and a 20L 8v g60 off the road since mid jan for major overhaul but my work horse (20L 8v) has decided not to play. was running fine till wife hit pot hole. she drove another half mile or so till safe to pull over changed tyre got back in would fire first time as normal then die straight away. two recovery men later i have it home. both breakdown men say fuel pump gone. :epicfail: :salute: took both fuel lines off injectors turned car over loads of fuel . me thinks transponder key / immobiliser fault. any ideas ? thanks in advance.

Might be just a relay or fuse loose after the pothole... I would check and re-seat these

Car will usually run for 2 secs then die if it's an imob issue

Sound like the immoboliser reader coil has become dislodged from the steering column (assuming it has a factory fit immob)

Just had the same fault on the same car, ignition barrel needed changing as some of the wires were shot.

Also double check the two small wires form the - on the battery case they are shorting out. (sparking)

Mine did this suddenly, would start but then die after the 2 seconds. I fixed it by unplugging the immobiliser box under the dash, shouting at it a bit and then re-connecting everything. Worked for me. Maybe some of the connections just need a clean?

hi sorry its been so long but only just got car fixed. mate turned up plugs in diagnostic unit gets data transfer error message strips dash removes immobiliser control box close look reveals that one of the pins is slightly bent. gets little screwdriver straightens it plugs back in hey presto everything is ok. the questions i have is.....1)with a plug in there how do you bend a pin by hitting a pot hole?.......2) why didnt the garage spot this or at least check and why did they charge me £141.00 for labour for not finding the fault????????????

ive been had :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:
