broken magnecor - options?

Recommended Posts

I recently fitted some blue 8mm magnecors on my car, (bought about a year back from here!) Anyway, one looked like it had been repaired with silicone. Didnt think anything of it until i removed it from the spark plug and it basically ripped it self apart from the silicone 'repair'. Options on repair or replacement? Its lead 3 btw and now i've got the original red one back there which looks a bit crap tbh.

you should really be using the VAG tool for removing the plugs. That's probably why it pulled off... I don't think its fixable tbh :(

you could try some conductive epoxy to try to glue it together but the spark you'll get will be pants....

cheers for that alex - i do use the VW tool, which is why it was even more of a surprise. Its basically flexed at the tear and torn through, so the 'tear' was actually a gash which had gone all the way through. So taking it out and removing it from the removal tool probably just flexed the weak joint too far and it popped open. Great :(

sounds like the cable had seen better days! I'd bite the bullet and get some new ones, you get some nice ones for £60ish
