right.. basicly i need some help,

my front top mounts are shagged .. ive been quoted £100 by every garage around here and tbh im not that rich at the moment , i'm willing to pay someone to do them for me (think of it as damsel in distress ) i live near witney but im also willing to come to you

MK? what postcode... cus I would end up spending the same in petrol to make the difference to what the garages round here want, im guessing.. :( :( Thanks tho!!!

I probably wouldn't charge, or at least next to nothing if you wanted to pay me a small amount (maybe just a few quid for the cost of 'lecky for the compressor as no doubt we'd need it haha!) If all else fails and you can't find anyone closer then let me know and we could work something out

Im in Cowley Oxford but my tools are in kent... don't suppose thats much use unless you've got tools?

Only specialist tool is the top mount allen key and nut removal tool. Got a homemade one at home, there s a special vw tool number for it but dont know what it is, failing that an impact gun normally does the trick! Apart from that ratchet and spanner set, jack, axle stand?

7mm allen key, brake caliper allen key i think they are called.

 

and all i did was grind two flat sides on a 22mm socket and use and adjustable spanne to grab it with.

 

not a very complicated job, really is a half hour at the most, and thats without an airgun.

 

£100 is daylight robbery.

Haha yeah, i've got access to some pretty hefty tools, our air gun usually does the job, if not got a long bar and a hammer :lol:

thanks for all ur kind offers i found out its not my top mounts .. well the person who had this car before me bodged them on (didnt think it was possible!!)
