Headunit & Ignition Position

Guys

 

Fitted my Sony headunit today in the VR.

 

It works fine on ignition positions '0' and '1' but on '2' (the last one) and when you start the car it goes off.

 

Car still starts perfectly everytime.

 

Any ideas? Ive done a search but couldnt quite find the same issue.

Does it come back on once you turn the key back from the starter position? The starter position turns off unnecessary items to reduce the load on the cars electrics while starting the engine.

yes it does, however you start the car and it remains off.

Exactly the same problem and my girlfriend finds this highly amusing, if you move the key a tiny bit further (as if to start it) you can get a sweet position that keeps the head unit on. I believe it is the ignition switch, i've been saying im going to order one for ages but its an absolute bitch to fit.

Yeah, sounds suspiciously like the ignition switch is on it's way out.
