oil and water up to temp - how long for VR6

Hi

 

Just wondering about the time taken to get a VR6 upto running temperatures for oil and water

 

just done headgasket and also had the engine out so am just a bit nervous on keeping an eye on everything

 

any info on your VR6 and time to warm up is much appreciated

 

I got oil temp at 90 degree in 10-12 minutes, will time again to be sure

 

but from memory it did heat up quicker.

 

I have replaced the full coolant system and done all engine gaskets apart from sump, not sure if this makes any difference

Is that just sat there idling? It will get up to temp a lot quicker if driven but it does take a while for the oil to get up to temp.

After being left overnight, mine takes about 10 min to get to 90 degress on my way to work, which is mainly driving at an average of 30-40mph.

yeah on drive to work not idling

 

just want to be sure i don't break my baby ( again )
