simo79 0 Posted May 27, 2010 Can anyone tell me a good place to purchase piston seals for mybrake callipers please? Got girling g60 on the front and standards. Be Aberdeen wasn't 37 bucks a corner for the girlings and 20 a corner for the rear. Think that's a bit pricey for two rubber seals. Any info would be aprreciated. g60jaime 10 Posted May 27, 2010 VW dealer, or cheaper alternative Bigg Red. http://www.biggred.co.uk/ Bigg Red are a caliper refurbing company specialising in this sort of thing. Was about £30 inc p+p for a set of seals for my mk4 rear brakes.
Fanjita 1 Posted May 27, 2010 I got some recently from Biggred for the rears and it was a good little kit, included all the seals and rubbers to give the calipers a good refurb

Fanjita 1 Posted May 27, 2010 I got a few o rings I didn't use for the rears, probably for the handbrake mechanism at the back of the caliper?

daves16v 1 Posted October 15, 2010 Have started refurbing my 288 calipers and found this thread, has anyone else used Bigg Red caliper refurb seal kits? No doubt they'll be cheaper than the dealer but are they a good quality alternative? Thanks
Guest Posted October 15, 2010 Not being able to do the refurb itself I went one step further and took my calipers (8v) to Biggred for them to do the bizz. Blasted, painted with their top of the range ptfe paint, refurbed and posted back to me. They look great, clean easily and stop the car really really well. Fanjita 1 Posted October 16, 2010 Dave, Bigred were the suppliers of my rubber seals kit, got them as the piston dust covers were fucked. Had them on for a good few miles now, no problems at all.
